Iranian document delivery services were surveyed using a questionnaire consisting of 8 closed and two open questions, circulated to interlibrary loan and document delivery centers in Iran. 57.5% of the libraries and information centers queried use document delivery services outside Iran. 97.5% of the population studied are also active in document delivery services in Iran. 58.8% use British Library Document Supply Center for their foreign document delivery requirements. Iranian Scientific Information and Documentation Center stands out as providing most services among Iranian document delivery centers. It provides information to 39% of libraries and information centers in Iran. 42.7% of Iranian libraries and information centers still employ the postal service for their document deliveries. Of the information resources used in document delivery services, journal article reprints constitutes 61.3% of the requests. The paper assesses the bottlenecks perceived and suggestions offered by these centers in the area of document delivery.
