The present paper attempts to study the Library and Information Science dissertations held with IRANDOC using content analysis methods. The study sample was comprised of 240 dissertations sent to IRANDOC from various Iranian universities during 1994-2004. Findings indicate the Tehran University of Medical Sciences had sent the highest number of dissertations. The dominant subject was Libraries and Resource Centers. Media had the least subject focus. Academic libraries were reviewed more than other types of libraries. Most dissertations have used surveying as the preferred research methodology. Average citation rate and the foreign citation to total citation ratio were on the rise in the given time period.
