Utilizing bibliometric method, the present study investigates the status, growth and development of scientific output of Iranian Library and Information Science Professionals in LIS journals covered in Emerald Database up until June 2007. A total of 39 articles by 28 authors were identified. The study showed that the LIS group at Shahid Chamran University of Ahwaz takes the institutional lead with 12 documents. Men’s contribution to scientific output had been 80%. The scientific output peaks within 2004-2006 period. National distribution shows that with 16 articles, LIS professionals in Tehran had the highest contribution.
