Author
Abstract
Presently there are several [library] software suites designed and developed in Iran. Pars Azarakhsh, Nosa, Kavosh, Bahman Borna, Ganjineh, Arghoon and Katibeh are some examples. However, when reviewed technically, it is demonstrated that information retrival service is not optimized in any of these softwares. The present study aims at defining an optimal information retrieval system. It also attempts to provide an outline for researchers and all those engaged in this field and make possible the evaluation of information retrival systems. The study has adopted a descriptive and applied approach towards addressing the following issues: Mode of information organization, required capabilties and features of an optimized information system, Feedback modes, Information representation, manner of evaluation of an optimal infornmation retrieval system, options for fully automated processes, Boolean operators, system feedback, various graphical representation of information.
