the Islamic Republic Of Irans entry into the internet and the thershold of an information society had been the hot topic of concern among many Iranian statesmen, organizations and ministries. But is Iran prepared or able to confront the reality of internet? Internet as a technological breakthrough, facilitates - and does not determines- the social and economic development process. Irans lack of adequate information as well as communication infrastructures would prevent Iran from taking full benefit of the internet. proper utilization of the NET requires passing through stages. the question of cultural invasion, information warefare and the legal voids require deep concerntration. In order to enhance the capability to use the internet, the goverment needs to set realistic guidelines and make fundimental investment.
