The purpose of this research is to determine contribution of effective thematic disciplines in the formation of user interface theses in iran and their methodological analysis. The research was carried out using a quantitative content analysis method and a checklist for collecting data. Results showed that in more than 25 different universities in the country (including state, Payame Noor, non-profit, and Islamic Azad Universities), the theses in the field of the user interface have been performed and completed. The findings of the present study indicated that specialists with a degree in 18 subject fields have played a role in forming, guiding, and providing consultations for conducting theses in this field. However, experts Knowledge and Information Science have conducted or directed more than half of the theses in this field in Iran. Findings about research methodology of theses showed that only some methods and often in quantitative approach have been used. More than 40% of theses have been conducted using the survey method that is one of the most important methods of quantitative approach. In addition, they have often practical and used a single tool, often a questionnaire or checklist, to collect data. The tendency to use a small number of samples, as well as targeted sampling methods is observed. It seems in addition to conducting practical researches (especially evaluating the designed products and providing feedback to their designers), it is necessary to review the theoretical foundations and principles in this area and develop the theoretical field with using new research approaches, methods and tools.
