The main purpose of this study is the citation analysis of the theses references of the earth sciences area graduates, that are available in the Iranian information and documentation center. In this reason by using of bibliometric technique and descriptive analysis methos, the references of 310 M.SC. theses (with 18083 citations), that are available in Irandoc, were studied. After gathering the data, the references were classified according to their forms, life cycle, languages and place of publications. The data were analysed by using of statistical methods such as classification according to frequency distribution, determine of mean and half life. In order to analysis of data, the SPSS10 and Excel softwares were used.
