Information seeking is a behavior emerging out of the interaction between information seeker and information system and should be regarded as an episodic process so as to meet information needs of users and to take different roles in different stages of it. The present article introduces a process approach to information services in libraries using Carol Collier Kuhlthau Model. In this model, information seeking is regarded as a process consisting of six stages in each of which users have different thoughts, feelings and actions and librarians also take different roles at any stage correspondingly. These six stages are derived from instructive learning theory based on uncertainty principle. Regardless of some acceptable shortcomings, this model may be regarded as a new solution for rendering modern information services in libraries especially in relation to new information environments and media.
