The main purpose of the present research is to investigate theobstacles of Information Technology application in public libraries inShiraz. Research methodology is a descriptive survey. The number ofResearch population is 103 persons who are the staff of public libraries ofShiraz. Data collecting tools is a questionnaire set by SPSS. Inferentialstatistical tests such as Pierson test, T- Test and Annova test have beenused to analyse the collected data. Findings shows that there is nomeaningful difference between managers and experts attitudes toward theuse of advantages of IT applications in public libraries and between theirattitudes toward the managerial, technical, economic and socioobstaclesof effective using of Information Technology.
