The set of graphic signs, used in the written language, are a part of the general sign system. The meaning of signs is determined in society by convention, parenthesis, quotation marks, pair of commas, question marks, exclamation marks, apostrophe, period, brackets, colon, dash, hyphen and solidus are the usual signs of punctuation, these signs signal certain important grammatical and attitudinal contrasts, its function are to separate units in a linear sequence, to indicate when one unit is included within another and to mark a specific grammatical function.
