The article aims at drawing the relative strengths and weaknesses of various graduate courses in library and information science offered in Uk, US, India and Iran. It provides a general status, as well as points of similarity and difference. The author wished that by using the experiences of developed countries, educational planners and policymakers would be able to better resolve the obstacles and glitches in LIS education in Iran.
