Technical Information is information about technology. The present article attempts to approach this term from different angles such as definition, types of technical information available, acquisition, cataloging and dissemination and to understand how it differs from scientific information. Iran has not given due attention to this subject and most of the Iranian information services essentially deal with scientific information. The present realities and added emphasis on research and development in technology, underscores the need for such information centers and services.
